In a special way, we wish to thank all who contributed to the great success of ¡MASBÁmonos!, our very memorable, informative & entertaining 20th Annual MASBA Conference on February 22-24, 2018 in San Antonio! We are pleased to report that we grew our annual MASBA conference from 127 registrants in 2017, to 351 registrants in 2018. This conference featured several tremendous general sessions and break-out sessions—and a keynote by Latino legend Henry Cisneros!

We also wish to thank all who joined us for ¡MASBA Salsa!, our annual reception at SLI South in San Antonio on June 15, 2018! This entertaining evening for MASBA members and their guests included food & drink, professional salsa dancers, salsa lessons, music by Roger Velasquez & the Latin Legendz, hand-drawn caricatures by students of our MASBA member districts, and photos with our MASBA monos, the monkeys whose rallying cry ¡MASBÁmonos! reminds us that “we’re not monkeying around; we’re closing gaps!” One special highlight of the evening was the awarding of our 2018 MASBA Scholarships!

Pre-registration is now closed for our February 27 Texas Public School Equity Symposium at the Renaissance Austin Hotel, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On-site registration for $150 will be available on that day.

Pre-registration is also closed for our February 28 Tour of Best Practices in Central Texas, which will depart from the Renaissance Austin Hotel at 9:00 a.m. On-site registration for $125 will be available on that day.
