Mexican American School Boards Association

Educate. Inspire. Act.

¿Quiénes somos?

The Mexican American School Boards Association (MASBA) is a voluntary, non-profit, statewide education association that has served local Texas school boards since 1970. MASBA is focused on closing opportunity & achievement gaps for all students–especially for Hispanic students and English Language Learners!

¿Qué hacemos?

MASBA is dedicated to providing high-quality services to its members!

Advocacy. We speak with a unified voice to decision makers on our MASBA Advocacy Agenda, which champions the students of our Texas public schools—particularly the Hispanic students who comprise the majority in our Texas public schools, and the English Language Learners who are expected to comprise 30% of our Texas public schools by 2025.

Information. We provide legislative & advocacy updates on issues affecting Hispanic students and English Language Learners in Texas, as well as resources on educational trends and the role of good governance in closing opportunity & achievement gaps.

Training. We provide first-class conferences, seminars & webinars with continuing education credits, and we equip Texas trustees to tackle the tough issues of equity, diversity & inclusion as they help guide their districts toward excellence.

Register for our 2018 Annual Conference!

Please join us for our 2018 Annual Conference on February 22-24, at the Hilton San Antonio Airport!
MASBA provides Texas superintendents and trustees the most cost-effective continuing education credits available! For the cost of annual membership, the superintendents and trustees of member districts enjoy free access to this conference, which awards 15 hours of continuing education. Tour best practices in the San Antonio area. Meet other trustees and interact with students. Hear big-name speakers, and participate in informative concurrent sessions. Stay for our famous Saturday evening ¡MASBAchanga! with Roger Velasquez & the Legendz! Even the receptions and conference snacks have a flare reminding participants of the cultures represented by the Hispanic students and English Language Learners we serve!
